After a successful duck race last month in Port Angeles, Giant Quacky headed out to Idaho Falls to support the 24th Annual Great Snake River Greenbelt Duck Race. Hosted by the Idaho Falls Rotary, the Great Snake River Duck Race will take place on August 9, 2014 at 10am MT. Giant Quacky has been making his rounds around town and could even be seen from the interstate!
The event will be on the west side of the river and nearly 20,000 derby ducks will be dropped into the Snake River at 4pm. Throughout the day duck fans will be able to enjoy a classic car show, vendor and food booths, speed boat races, a kids “make it” booth sponsored by Home Depot, snowmobile water racing demonstration, a military display and a ping pong ball drop.
Owners of the Adopted Derby Ducks are hoping to win one of nine ducktastic prizes including golf passes, a Gloria Miller Allen painting, a dining experience with gift certificates from various restaurants, a $1,000 shopping spree at Sam’s Club, a $1,500 gift certificate to Farr’s Jewelry, a diamond necklace, a season ski pass, and a Kawasaki Teryx 4 wheeler as the first prize. But one lucky duck will cross the finish line first and win the ultimate grand prize of a 2014 Ford F-150 pickup!
