Adopt a Duck – Help a Community

Game Events Derby Duck Race, Fundraising, Fundraising Community

Summer may be drawing to an end but our Derby Duck Race Season is still going strong. This weekend we have two  quacky duck races that will benefit some great organizations. Adopt a Duck and help a community, check them out!

The first race of the weekend is celebrating their 20th year racing Derby Ducks. The Sertoma Great Topeka Duck Race returns to Lake Shawnee on Saturday, September 12 in Topeka, Kansas. While the Derby Ducks gear up for their race, friends and families can enjoy an afternoon of children’s activities, festivities, children’s midway games, children’s arts & crafts, a petting zoo, face painting, clowns, food, entertainment and FUN! At 4pm CDT 12,000 ducks will make a splash and swim their way for the top spots to receive a prize. This year’s prizes include season tickets to Washburn University football and basketball, a flat screen TV, a $500 shopping spree at HyVee and more! The grand prize winner will drive home in a 2007 Ford Mustang, cherry red! All proceeds will benefit Sertoma (SERvice TO MAnkind) who is a community service organization whose national sponsorship is helping people with hearing health issues. Sertoma has teamed up with many nonprofit organizations including The Capper Foundation, Children’s Miracle Network, Meals on Wheels, Boys & Girls Clubs and many more! Don’t miss out, the ducktacular fun begins at 12pm.
