Delaware Humane Association’s 2nd Annual Rubber Duck Race

Who: Delaware Humane Association

The Delaware Humane Association is a premiere no-kill nonprofit animal care and adoption center serving a four-state area. DHA provides temporary shelter for homeless cats and dogs, affordable spay/neuter services, low cost vaccination clinics, pet adoptions, and more.

Where: Wilmington, DE at Tubman-Garrett Riverfront Park

When: September 17, 2015 from 4-7pm EDT – Ducks race around 5:45pm

Highlights: This quacky race is back for its second year with more ducks helping homeless cats and dogs in the area. Proceeds from every Derby Duck that is adopted can feed a cat or dog for a day. Just imagine what a whole flock can do for the animals at DHA.

Prizes: The first four ducks out of 10,000 to reach the finish line will be plucked and given a prize. This year you can win $300 in gift cards for local restaurants, a $1,000 ShopRite gift card, (4) one-day Hopper Passes to Walt Disney World with a week stay at the Sheraton Vistana Resort, and the grand prize winner will go home with $2,500 in cash!

United Rehabilitation Services Rubber Duck Regatta

Who: United Rehabilitation Services

The United Rehabilitation Services serves the needs of children and adults with disabilities in the Miami Valley. URS provides unique services including the region’s only childcare center with onsite nurses to meet the needs of medically fragile children, the region’s only Latchkey Program for your with disabilities providing before and after school care and summer camp programs, and on-site specialized Physical, Occupational and Speech Therapies.

Where: Dayton, OH at RiverScape Metro Park during the Taste of Miami Valley Festival

When: September 19, 2015 at 2:30pm EDT – Ducks drop at 3pm

Highlights: 20,000 Derby Ducks return for their 12th year racing during The Taste of Miami Valley which features more than 30 local restaurants providing samples. The race will kick off with the “Quacky Kid’s Parade,” followed by the BIG DUCK Drop off the Riverside Drive Bridge into the Great Miami River!

Prizes: Six ducky prizes will go to the owner’s of the first six ducks to cross the finish line. This year’s prizes include a 2-in-1 detachable laptop, a $500 gift card to James Free Jewelers, Southwest Airlines tickets, a $1,000 gift card to Kroger, and the grand prize winner will enjoy a 7-bedroom houseboat rental on Norris Lake!

Las Vegas Lucky Duck Family Festival    

Who: Foundation for Positively Kids

Foundation for Positively Kids is Southern Nevada’s only nonprofit that provides pediatric healthcare services for medically fragile, medically dependent, and/or developmentally delayed children. Support from the Lucky Duck Family Festival  helps provide programs and services that have a positive effect on the growth and development of these children.

Where: Las Vegas, NV at Town Square

When: September 19, 2015 from 9am-5pm PDT – Ducks launch at 4pm

Highlights: This lucky duck event is free to the public all day  long. Guests will enjoy entertainment, children’s games, characters, classic cars, and cool stuff to buy. Adopt a quack pack (6 ducks) and you will received 2 tickets to Paul Scally of Grand Laughs Comedy Show.

Prizes: 5,000 Derby Ducks will take a dip in the Town Square Pond where several ducks will be plucked out to win a prize. One duck out of the 5,000 will be randomly selected at the $500,000 duck. If that duck number is the first duck that is plucked, the winner wins the $500,000! You don’t want to “duck” out on this event!

2015 Rotary Duck Derby

Who: Grants Pass Rotary Club Foundation

This year’s funds will benefit The Boys & Girls Clubs in Grants Pass and Cave Junction.

Where: Grants Pass, OR at Riverside Park

When: September 19, 2015 at 12pm PDT

Highlights: Returning for its 13th year, the Rotary Duck Derby will once again race 10,000 Derby Ducks to help raise funds to give back to the community.

Prizes: Over 10 prizes will be awarded to the fastest ducks to cross the finish line. This year’s prizes include a $500 gift certificate to Les Schwab, a $1,000 one-year family membership to YMCA, a beach house rental for one week, and a living room and mattress set. The grand prize winner will go home with a $15,000 vehicle credit toward the purchase or lease of a new car or truck from a Grants Pass New Car Dealer!

Alzheimer Duck Derby

Who: Alzheimer Society Nova Scotia

Adopting a Duck can connect Nova Scotians living with Alzheimer’s disease or other dementias to ongoing support, educate the public on how to maintain better brain health, give caregivers information and education so they can provide the best possible care, and fund research to find the causes, treatments and a cure.

Where: Halifax, Nova Scotia at Bishop’s Landing, Halifax Waterfront

When: September 20, 2015 at 12pm DST – Ducks race at 2pm

Highlights: This lucky ducky day starts with a free kid’s zone opening at 12pm followed by a Mini Duckorated Ducks Race in the harbor. This fun filled day will also feature a free Kid’s Duck Costume Contest in which the winner will receive $500 for an education fund.

Prizes: 10,000 Derby Ducks will take a dip in the harbor for a chance to win a 2015 Hyundai Accent as the grand prizes. The next two top ducks will win two tickets on WestJet Airlines or a $1,000 Shopping Spree. More prizes will be available for the rest of the top 10 ducks!

Gwinnett Duck Derby

Who: Rotary Club of South Gwinnett County

This inaugural Duck Derby will benefit Gwinnett kids. The Rotary Club of South Gwinnett County will donate the funds from the race to local organizations including the Lawrenceville Boys & Girls Club, Corley Elementary School, the Brookwood High School Interact Club, and other deserving causes.

Where: Stone Mountain, GA at Mountain Park Aquatic Center

When: September 20, 2015 at 1pm EDT

Highlights: 5,000 Derby Ducks are making their debut in Gwinnett. This quacky day is free and open to the public. The event will feature a family-friendly, festival-like event with food, youth activities and more!

Prizes: Cash, cash, cash! This fun event will give out some cash to the top three ducks to cross the finish line: $500, $1,000, and $2,500.

Motor City Quack Attack

Who: Kids Without Cancer

Kids Without Cancer is raising money to fund the pediatric cancer research conducted at the Children’s Hospital of Michigan and its affiliates Wayne State University & the Karmanos Cancer Institute. Kids Without Cancer was founded by a small group of concerned parents who had one thing in common: they had children in cancer treatment. Unwilling to sit idly by while their children suffered, these parents agreed to work together to help find a cure.

Where: Trenton, MI at Elizabeth Park

When: September 20, 2015 at 3pm EDT

Highlights: Also racing for the first time, 5,000 ducks will make their first appearance in Michigan. There will be music and fun games for adults and kids alike. A variety of local vendors will be on hand with various food and drinks for purchase.

Prizes: 5,000 Derby Ducks are swimming for dollar bills. The first Derby Duck to cross the finish line will swim home with $1,000 cash, the second lucky duck will swim home with $500 cash, and the third duck to cross the finish line will swim home with $250 cash!
