The 2015 Derby Duck Race Season Ends this Weekend

Game Events Derby Duck Race, Fundraising, Fundraising Community

Our Derby Ducks have had a great race season raising hundreds of thousands of dollars for nonprofit organizations, service clubs, and youth programs. We are closing out this quacky Derby Duck Race Season with two great races this fall weekend.

Our first race of the weekend has been racing for 27 years! The Mid-Columbia Duck Race returns to Kennewick, WA on Saturday, October 10, 2015. Hosted by the Tri-Cities Rotary, duck race fans can enjoy vendors, hot dogs, bounce houses, pumpkin decorating and more! Goodie bags will be also given out for the first 100 children attending the race!  40,000 Derby Ducks will splash down  in Kennewick Park and race to win their adoptive owner one of 45 ducktastic prizes including golf passes, auto detail certificates, gas cards, a weekend ski package, a wine tour, an Apple gift package, and more! One lucky duck owner will drive home in the grand prize of a 2015 Toyota Camry LE! Funds are being raised by a joint effort from the Tri-Cities Rotary Clubs of Columbia Center, Columbia Valley Daybreak, Pasco-Kennewick, Richland, Richland Riverside, and Tri-Cities Sunrise. The clubs will split the profit and donate the proceeds to selected charities and nonprofits! Don’t miss out, event starts at 10am PDT and ducks race at noon!

Our second Derby Duck Race of the weekend takes us to sunny California. The Kiwanis Incredible Duck Splash is back for their 11th year racing 20,000 Derby Ducks in Glendale, CA. This lucky duck event also takes place on Saturday, October 10, 2015 at Verdugo Park from 10am – 3pm PDT. Spectators can enjoy a day of quacktivities, food, games, and entertainment. This race is unique as the Derby Ducks will be racing in 6 heats and a grand finale in a ducktastic man-made race course called Lake Glendale. This year’s ducky prizes are all about big bucks for your ducks. Five cash prizes will be given out: 4th and 5th prizes will receive $500 each, 2nd and 3rd place will receive $1,000 each, and own lucky duck owner will walk home with $10,000! This race would not be possible without the help and support of the Kiwanis Club of Glendale who will be donating the duck race proceeds to over 50 nonprofit organizations, schools, community service clubs, and other groups who have participated as Duck Buddies. Every duck adoptied helps in a significant way towards improving the lives of needy children, senior citizens and veterans in the community!
