Answer: They will be racing to raise funds for some fantastic organizations! We have one Turbo Turtle Race and three Derby Duck Races that will swim to victory this weekend! Check them out!


The Snappin’ Chaplin Turtle Derby

Who: Main Street Perryville

Their mission is to stimulate economic growth of the downtown business district, while preserving and protecting the historic integrity of their community.

Where: Perryville, KY (Downtown)

When: Saturday, July 30, 2016 from 11am – 10pm EDT, Turtles race at approximately 7pm

Highlights: The Turbo Turtles are making their grand debut in Perryville! For the first time ever the Turbo Turtles will dip into the Chaplin River to swim to win! Throughout this turtlerific day fans can enjoy food trucks, a dj, family fun and a social artworking painting class! The best part? Another highlight of this event is that it is free and open to the public!

Prizes: 2,000 Turbo Turtles are green for cash prizes. The top three turtles will take home wither $400, $600, or $1,000 cash!

The Humane Society’s 2016 Duck Derby

Who: The Humane Society

The Humane Society is a nonprofit animal welfare organization dedicated to the prevention of animal cruelty and finding permanent, loving homes for companion animals. The Humane Society services the Broome County community of sheltering animals, finding them homes, investigating reports of animal cruelty, educating people of all ages and rescuing animals from life threatening situations.

Where: Binghamton, NY at the Holiday Inn Downtown Binghamton

When: Sunday, July 31, 2016 from 12-4pm EDT

Highlights: Spend the afternoon with animals looking for forever homes and 10,000 Derby Ducks! Duck race fans can enjoy a day full of vendors, games, music, animals, and more! Every animal deserves a home so don’t miss your chance to Adopt a Duck before they sell out!

Great Black Hills Duck Race

Who: Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals

Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals works to fund medical equipment, services and programs for ill and injured children. In-school safety programs, a pediatric emergency transportation fun, and special equipment in the hospital’s Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and Advanced Care Pediatrics are just a few of the many ways Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals helps make medical miracles happen.

Where: Rapid City, SD at Memorial Park

When: Sunday, July 31, 2016 at 1pm MDT

Highlights: Duck spectators can enjoy a family-friendly afternoon of fun activities, games, souvenirs, music and more! Don’t miss out on your chance to meet Quacky!

Prizes: 17,000 Derby Ducks are competing for nearly $27,000 in prizes including a $5,000 grand prize! This lucky race will also feature a chance at the Million Dollar Duck!


Silverdale Rotary Duck Race

Who: Silverdale Rotary Club

The Silverdale Rotary brings together business and professional leaders in order to provide humanitarian services, encourage high ethical standards in all vocations, and to advance goodwill and peace throughout the community. This year’s duck race proceeds will benefit the lives of children through programs feeding homeless children, supporting the Teen Center at the YMCA, Stand Up for Kids, provide scholarships for high school seniors, and more!

Where: Silverdale, WA during Whaling Days

When: Sunday, July 31, 2016

Highlights: All weekend duck fans can enjoy parades, food, music and LOTS of fun during the Whaling Days Festival. The duck race will conclude the weekend by launching nearly 20,000 Derby Ducks into the river to win prizes!

Prizes: This year these ducks are swimming to win one of nearly 100 quacky prizes. The quickest duck of them all will go home in a brand new truck!
