The Lucky Ducky Derby

Somerset Children’s Center held their first Lucky Ducky Derby on August 17th at the South Branch River in New Jersey. The rubber ducks were launched from the bridge and raced down the river to compete for prizes for their duck adopters. All the proceeds from the event benefited the Somerset Children’s Center, whose mission is to maximize the potential of each child with special needs through a holistic approach utilizing developmentally appropriate therapeutic services in a safe, nurturing environment. A total of 2,504 ducks were adopted for the event.

The Humane Society Duck Derby

The Broome County Humane Society sold out 15,000 duck adoptions for their annual Humane Society Duck Derby. The Broome County Humane Society services the community by sheltering animals, finding them homes, investigating reports of animal cruelty, educating people of all ages and rescuing animals from life threatening situations.
