Derby Duck Fundraiser

Last Minute Duck Adoptions

The majority of duck adoptions come in the last week before our Derby Duck Fundraisers. This can cause some of our fundraising partners to panic, but do not worry! We have plenty of ideas to encourage last-minute duck adoptions and to make that final push to get all your ducks adopted before your event.

Duck Emergency

To encourage people to adopt a duck who are procrastinating the last week, post a duck emergency image on social media. We have a variety of images to choose from, or you can create your own image in Canva. You should include your call to action and your Equack website in the copy that you post along with the image. You can also send a duck emergency image in an email blast to last year’s duck adopters as well.

Remaining Ducks

Tell people how many ducks you have left! The Broome County Humane Society posted the image below on social media showing how many ducks they had left before their event. This encourages people to adopt ducks before they are sold out.

Team Totals

Post your duck team totals for everyone to see, or your top duck teams that have sold the most ducks. This will help encourage teams to get those last-minute duck adoptions in before your Derby Duck Fundraiser. Make sure there are incentives in place for your top selling teams such as gift cards or other prizes to keep them motivated.

Prizes

Post pictures of your actual prizes to get people excited and want to adopt their ducks. For cash prizes, post a picture of physical money to give people a visual reminder about the money they could win. You can also use an image like the one below of ducks and money.

Duck Adoption Contest

Create a contest for last minute duck adoptions. For example, everyone who adopts a duck on the day before your fundraiser will be entered to win a prize. The prize can be anything from a gift card to cash to movie tickets. In-kind donations work great as prizes for these contests as well.
